Health Care Policy

There are about 1.3 million Ohio adults and children without health insurance. Four out of five of the uninsured are in working families. Racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to be uninsured.

Progressives believe that health care is a right, not a privilege.

We support the following:

•Development of comprehensive health assistance for people who cannot afford it.
•Flexible payments and debt relief for the uninsured and low-income families
•Expansion of the range of choice and quality of health care
•Passage of the Ohio Healthy Families Act, which would require businesses with more than 25 workers to provide up to seven paid sick days each year.
