On his campaign website, John McCain claims that he supports “supplementing the current Social Security system with personal accounts.”
But that’s not what he told the Wall Street Journal recently.
Rather than supplementing Social Security with add-on accounts that don’t jeopardize benefits, McCain is pandering to the right-wing of his party by supporting President Bush’s failed policy to privatize Social Security.
On one of the most important issues of the day – the future of Social Security – yet again Senator McCain is a carbon copy of President Bush.
Meanwhile, here in Ohio, Senator George Voinovich didn’t stick up for Ohio’s families in 2006 when Social Security privatization came to a vote.
He was the only senator who didn’t vote.
Now, in 2008, will he stand with us or with John McCain?
