Tell Senator Voinovich: Stop The Threatened Boycotts And Delay
We pay George Voinovich $476 a day to represent Ohio in the Senate.
George Voinovich recently announced he and other Republicans were skipping work to delay the clean energy bill. [1]
Clean energy will move on [2], but that doesn’t mean we should.
Send a message to the Secretary of the Senate, the person ultimately in charge of Voinovich’s pay.
Tell her we don’t want to pay for another delay.
Dear Madam Secretary,
I am writing today in response to the actions of Sen. George Voinovich and the other Republican members of the Environment & Public Works Committee.
As a taxpayer, I am disappointed that Sen. Voinovich and the others will still receive full pay, even though they are abstaining from their legislative duties, with the intent of obstructing the work of Congress.
While withholding pay in this fashion may not be at your discretion, I wanted to register my disdain at the behavior of Sen. Voinovich and the other Republican committee members.
