Partial Nudity Explained by Other Paper
By Daily Outrage Jun 23rd 2009 at 11:24 am EDT (Updated Jun 23rd 2009 at 11:24 am EDT)
The Other Paper, which is Columbus' weekly alternative, does a nice job of explaining how all of this unfolded:

"It wasn't quite as haunting as Guiliani in drag, nor did it stimulate the kind of political boost that a topless Malibu Barack could generate, but nonetheless, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher bared all in a 44-second clip posted illegally on YouTube last week.

"The eerie clip was ripped from the 2008 film Swing State, wherein Fisher's son and documentary filmmaker Jason Zone Fisher, captures his dad, currently a Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate, in front of his computer at 1 or 2 a.m. Fisher, then a candidate on Ohio's gubernatorial ticket, is filmed while he's unable to sleep, composing a campaign memo in the buff--from the waist up, at least.

"Long before topless photos of politicos were all the rage, Fisher inexplicably allowed his college-aged son to film a behind-the-scenes documentary about the 2006 gubernatorial race here in Ohio.

"Where political documentaries were once limited to bleak, coffee-stained campaign offices, 'Swing State' breaks down the final barrier, taking one giant leap into the home of a candidate," filmmakers say on the documentary's website, swingstate08.com.

"That final barrier--perhaps when Fisher leans back in his computer chair and rubs his fingers across his hairy chest?--proved irresistible for conservative blogger Matt Naugle, who posted the film clip on his website. The video went viral, landing first in the Dayton Daily News, and then again in the PD and Cincy's Enquirer.

Video Update
By Vanessa Jun 23rd 2009 at 9:39 pm EDT (Updated Jun 23rd 2009 at 9:39 pm EDT)
The "sexy shirtless'' video has been taken down, too, at the request of the movie made by Lee Fisher's son. They are claiming it's a copyright violation -- which is total BS. It's fair use and it's political parody, which is protected by the First Amendment.

That being said, the original video is still down at YouTube but you can find it here:
