According to Bobby Muller, the President of the progressive Veterans Service Organization , Veterans for America (VFA), between NOW and January 2009 almost half of the Soldiers scheduled to deploy to Iraq are State National Guard Units.

Veterans for America has just released the first of its reports [to Congress] on the impact of the Iraq War on our National Guard [entire nation not just Ohio] and the findings are clear:
Almost half of the troops scheduled to be deployed to Iraq between now and January 2009 are members of the National Guard.
Of these troops being deployed, more than half will be in units on their second tour of duty.
Recently, VFA staff traveled to New Jersey and heard the stories from National Guard Members and their families about the devastating impact these repeated deployments are having.
