Post from PeaceChicken's Blog:
Taking Truth to the Suburbs
This Memorial Day, dedicated members of Columbus911Truth.org participated in the Powell Parade, which moved through the main streets of downtown Powell, an upper class suburb north of Columbus.

Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theoriesThis is a village that donated over three times more to Republicans than Democrats in the 2004 elections. The same Powell that Bush visited a year ago to help with a DeWine fund raiser. And yes, Republican Congressman Pat Tiberi was in the parade as well. Did I mention it's a predominately Republican town??

The highlight of our display was a seven foot tall reproduction of the 9/11 Commission Report, complete with the required holes throughout, some VERY LARGE (e.g. two planes - three buildings = one has to wonder.)

The book rode in the bed of a pickup that was adorned with banners all around. The left and right sides featured Bush's very fitting quote:
"We must speak the truth about terror. Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th."

You will know the truth and the TRUTH will set you free. The back banner read:
"You will know the truth and the TRUTH will set you free. - John 8:32."

The front banner read:
"9/11 Truth will end this war."

The truck/display was preceded by:
"Oh say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave? O'er the land of the free? And the home of the brave?"

Oh say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave? O'er the land of the free? And the home of the brave?Obviously we weren't short on banners. They were all made possible by a generous donation from a 9/11 Truther in Toledo, along with an amazing deal given to us by Signs Columbus. The materials used to build the Commission Report were paid for by another generous donation from a member of our own group. (I would love to name these two individuals, but I won't until I get their permission.) And of course, the book didn't build itself--- the design and physical labor was provided by Aaron, Sherry, myself, and lots of Red Bull!

There was only a little bit of trouble in the beginning before the parade started. The main organizer came over to let us know a veteran had voiced concern over our being there. She said we couldn't include anything anti-war (don't think too hard about the lack of logic of that request.) While Sherry talked with the organizer about our already-agreed-upon involvement (we had approved registration like everyone else) and our refusal to take ourselves out of the lineup, a man walking by with his little Boy Scout son overheard the conversation. He stopped and said "Censorship? No, let them stay!" It was wonderful to see such support, he even went so far as to suggest something about a court order. Fortunately it didn't get that far and we were able to clear up the concern.

9/11 Truth will end this war.Along the parade route we passed out as many flyers, DVDs, CDs, and Deception Dollars as we could, although the pace was faster than expected (intentional or not?) The crowd was for the most part very accepting, with only a few strongly opposed to our presence. One man said to me "can I have a few more flyers? So I can throw them all away? You people disgust me, you shouldn't even be here." Little does he know--- comments like that are easily overshadowed and outnumbered by many grateful thumbs up and "I'm with ya!"

Over all, our group was extremely satisfied and motivated by our efforts and we definitely look forward to doing more parades in the future. This was only the beginning of a very active summer!

We really think all 9/11 Truth groups should be doing this. It's a great way to work yourselves into the community and engage hundreds of people in a short amount of time. Our work (and ultimate success) really depends on involving ourselves in the many small communities that make up our nation.

We will win this.

For all of those killed and wounded in NYC and DC, all of the soldiers killed and wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, and all the innocent civilians that have been killed or wounded as a result of this horrific lie --- Columbus911Truth.org honors you.

Not Political?

Your website says:

"9/11 Truth is not a political issue, it's a moral one." ( Link )

...yet you stress that "[Powell] is a village that donated over three times more to Republicans than Democrats in the 2004 elections. The same Powell that Bush visited a year ago to help with a DeWine fund raiser. And yes, Republican Congressman Pat Tiberi was in the parade as well. Did I mention it's a predominately Republican town??"

Which is it, political or not?

You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, Laura.

How many registered Republicans do you think are members of the 9/11 Truth movement?

>Actually I know two registered republicans in the movement quite well...Again, we don't think of 9-11 truth as an issue of left or right, but rather right and wrong.

I see from your ProgressOhio profile that you are a Libertarian. Just putting it out there.

I am a Democrat, for the record.

> I believe your advise to Laura is rather presumptive, Russ.

Sorry, I should have said "Sherry". I was thinking I was replying to Laura, the PeaceChicken. You two are quite the tag-team.

> Perhaps you could attend one of our public meetings. ... Please make your specific suggestions there as to the best way to educate the public.

I'd rather do it here. Please post your "9/11 Truth" facts here and I will try to frame them in a way that resonates with the public. What are the top 3 "attention-grabbers"?

> We would appreciate any constructive criticsim that you have!

For starters, you could expand your "Book list" at PeaceChicken's columbus911truth.org site. Five out of seven of the books are written/edited by David Ray Griffin ( Link ).

> If you would like to serve your country in some capacity other than offering other activists for peace and justice your unsolicited, general criticisms, then please join us.

This is a blog which allows comments, so not only are comments encouraged, they're required ... to keep things interesting. If you and Laura don't want unsolicited comments, then don't post here.

As far as suggesting that the only way I am serving my country is by criticizing "activists", you are way off base, honey! I knocked on 500 doors before last year's General Election, encouraging people to vote Democratic. I am "serving my country" by showing that Democrats are Americans, too. As a grassroots Democratic activist, I see my main duties as: showing the public it's OK to be a Democrat; showing that Dems love our country; making it obvious that we're not "offering comfort to the enemy"; helping out my Legislative brethren when they lose focus; and providing in-real-life proof that we're not a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

> What else would you like to say, Russ? I look forward to hearing everything on your mind.

The Bush Administration would have trouble planning a picnic, much less blowing up the WTC. They invaded Afghanistan because of 9/11, and rightly so. They invaded Iraq because that was the plan all along. They would've done it regardless of whether we were attacked or not. Check out the letters from the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) to Bill Clinton in 1998: Link ...and this one to House Speaker Gingrich and Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott: Link

You'll see that former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (and Paul Wolfowitz and the new World Bank candidate Robert B. Zoellick) signed both letters.

Your 3 "facts" are more like "questions":

1) Bin Laden is not wanted by the FBI for the September 11 terror attack.

Except that he is wanted by the FBI ( Link ) for "MURDER OF U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; CONSPIRACY TO MURDER U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; ATTACK ON A FEDERAL FACILITY RESULTING IN DEATH"

2) Not a single intelligence official been held accountable.

Not surprising, if true. The Bush Administration gives medals to people who screw up. The Bush Administration is unable to admit failure of any kind.

3) Why did two airplanes bring down three World Trade Center buildings at freefall speed?

You are suggesting that WTC 1&2 had explosives planted in every floor of the towers, and exploded exactly on cue. Have you SEEN buildings being demolished? There's a first round of explosions to weaken the structure, then a final round of explosions to take it down, usually from the ground-up. Please provide a link to footage of other buildings the height of WTC 1&2 coming down.

As far as WTC 7 goes, there was lots of diesel fuel stored on floors 5-7, to power generators. The building was weakened by debris from WTC 1/2 coming down, and the fires weakened the steel in WTC 7 and it collapsed.

Now I have some questions for you:

Why?

Didn't the Bush Administration plant evidence of Iraq's involvement of the 9/11 attack, if the Bushies planned the attack?

Why?

Didn't a third plane strike WTC 7, so they could "pull it" as they did WTC 1&2?

Why?

Did George Bush sit in a classroom for 7 minutes, then fly to South Dakota (or where ever) and hide in the ground? He should have jumped up and said, "I'm in charge. Fly me back to Washington. I'm not afraid." If everything was orchestrated, that's what he'd do.

Why?

Are you giving credence to the myth that 9/11 had ANYTHING to do with the invasion of Iraq?

And finally... How?

"9/11 Truth will stop the war"? Bush grabbed a tiger by the tail in Iraq, because he thought it was a pussy cat. Now he can't let go.

Even if the government comes out and says, "Yes, we hired the hijackers and had them fly into the WTC, which we then destroyed with explosives", then Bush would STILL refuse to leave Iraq, because he knows what a disaster it would be for his legacy (troops without jobs, troops getting divorced, troops with bad healthcare, Cheney not making as much money).

OK. One last thing ... about PNAC and their Pearl Harbor Event. They got it. It fell into their lap. It was a gift, as Ron Paul said, from years of horrible US intervention in the Middle East and Palestine. You KNOW that on 9/12 William Kristol was calling the White House, saying "Tie this to Iraq, and you will make our NeoCon friends lots of money."

Thanks for listening, Sherry.
