The U.S. Congress will award the Congressional Gold Medal to the former Army Air Corps troops from WW2, on March,29 2007 in the Capital Rotonda. These men and women were the persons who when on to form the Tuskegee Airmen. My father Howard Tibbs was a member of the 99th Fighter Sq. and 477th group. I will be expecting to have my mother Mrs. Betty Tibbs to be at the awarding. In the 231 years of the nation there have been only 1000 + persons or group-persons that have been given this honor. My father was a member of the AAC and played in bands during this era, tenor sax and was on the band stand with some of the greatest perfomers of the day, Nat "King" Cole, Lean Horne, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald...many more. This honor is LONG overdue and my dear father is no longer in this plane of existance to personally be in the Rotonda to get this medal. So my mother and I will be there. All of Congress and the White house and the current President will award the medals. I will let it be know...what occurs next.
