Warbloggers Get Hit In Face By Egg - RIP Bizzyblog...

Update 2: OK, the laughs just keep on coming! It seems that a made up story about a guy who supposedly didn't exist (but did) warrants page upon page of coverage from Bizzy, yet the factual story of his actual existence gets - hold for this - delegated! Amazing. I'll go batshit crazy with every morsel of information I can about some made up stuff, but I don't wanna touch it now that I look like an idiot. That's one helluva bob and weave!
Update: Undeterred, Tom picks up the AP bashing flag and runs with it...hilarity ensues. No mention yet of his beloved "Captain Tuttle".
Well, you could see this coming a mile away. Anyone remember the story of one Iraqi police captain Jamil Hussein? He was reported as a source in an AP story about how Six Sunnis were burned alive by Shiite militiamen. Right-wing warbloggers went nuts when Jamil could not be "produced". They spent many hours and possible carpel tunnel wrist damage selling the story that the AP made up the story out of whole cloth in order to paint a grim picture of a war that was - as far as they were concerned - going quite well thank you!
I commented on it here at one point - the point being that the existence of such a guy did not preclude the fact that two things were true. Six Sunnis were imolated in revenge by Shiites AND the Iraq War was going...well...pretty damned badly thank you!
Today we find out. Hold on. Very hard to type when you are laughing this hard. I'll be right back...
OK. Whew. That was a gooder. I was laughing so hard people were looking at me funny...and I'm in an office by myself! They were outside on South Third peeking in the window looking at me funny. What a hoot.
What's got me all busted up? Uh, that they found Jamil. Yeah, he exists. Real dude. Now guess what? He's being held by the same people who said he didn't exist and faces arrest for (irony alert!) speaking to the media. Bwahahahaha. This is another of those that I don't think I could even make up if I were trying to make fun of them. Whoopsie.
So here's the real kicker - and I feel bad for him - our own Bizzybody Blogger Tom Blumer went absolutely positively nuts about this story. So much so that I imagine him now wearing one of those wrist braces due to the pain from carpel tunnel. Just go do a quick search for "Jamil Hussein" on his site and start scrolling baby! Pixels galore! Yet, when the story comes out about Jamil actually existing and the AP being vindicated we get what? You guessed it. Crickets are currently chirping at the Bizzyblog. I imagine an official Bizzy apology to the AP would be in order, but I guess that's not in the cards. What I'm guessing is that he planted what I call "safety grenades" that he can pull the pin on and say "see? i had a feeling this was all legit!". It won't be the first time he's fell hard for some BS made up wingnut blog story. He used a safety grenade then too, by the way.
So nice scandal Tom and other warbloggers! Way to go! Can we now get back to the serious business of what is really going on or is there some other photo you'd like to blow up to 1000x and spend all day looking at to find smoke that isn't there?
The real question to ask is who did more damage to proper journalistic coverage of the Iraq War? AP or warbloggers? Well, we now know that there is one less reliable source for information than there was before thanks to these lemmings.
Oh, two more notes of irony. Tom likes to label the media as WORMs (Worn Out Reactionary Media). Tom knows plenty about reactionary as he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the Ohio 'sphere in reacting and parroting to the likes of Malkin, Powerline, Flopping Aces (especially in this case), and the rest of the worn out reactionary warbloggers. Tom also likes to end his little media tirades with something like:
This goes to the credibility, and ultimately the business viability, of the entire AP operation.
or
And so the credibility and the business viability of the Grey Lady continue to sink.
So I'd like to end this post by saying:
This obviously speaks to the credibility and long-term blogging viability of Bizzyblog.com as well as the worn out tirades of the lemming warblogging culture. Their steady decline continues.
