I received an email today that is really disturbing to me as an Ohioan. The information indictates that the GOP has scheduled a partisan meeting to discuss the proposed changes in the voting machines.
This is not how I expect any lawmaker in this state to conduct their business! Especially if it is about voting. That is why there is bipartisan representation. So that neither party has the advantage over the other.
The right to vote has already been compromised in this state. It is no secret that the voters of the state feel very unsure that our elections are being conducted in an honest manner.
That is not the way any citizen of Ohio should feel about any of our fundamental rights.
Your national party has already insulted African Americans by not directly addressing us during the national primary campaign.
Now it appears that the GOP is trying to make plans to put up resistance to needed changes in how Ohioans are going to vote.
How can Ohio voters trust machines that have been tested and failed? Is this the GOP's way of saying that it does not matter what Ohioans want, you will do as you please? It would seem to me, that if you are going to serve the people of this state, you need to be in line with what we want.
While the GOP may want to believe that it is not important to be open and honest about this issue-it is just too important for Ohioans to allow secret meetings to occur without protest.
No one in this state should be tolerant of such behavior from any group of lawmakers!

When will the people of Ohio wake up?
It is up to people who are involved and care about this issue to raise it up before the public.
We need to blog about what is going on. Talk about what is going on. Write letters to the larger publications about our concerns as voters. All politicans only have as much power as we allow them to use. It is up to people in both parties to let them know that their attempts to resist what is right is not acceptable.
Also we need to back up Jennifer Brunner and let them know that she is not alone in her concerns.
Especially those people who are in the counties of resistance.
