The Anonymous Chocolatier Strikes Again!
Coleman, FL (FBP) -- Thomas W. Noe, former Ohio coin dealer and Republican fundraiser, will announce today that he will seek the GOP nomination in 2008 for the 15th Congressional District seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Deborah Pryce, an Upper Arlington Republican.
Noe acknowledged a sense of obligation to the Republican Party, stating: "After all the statewide offices I cost the Republicans in 2006, the least I can do is try to keep this seat for the Republicans in 2008."
The GOP has been turned down by a succession of Republicans who were unwilling to run against the announced Democratic Party candidate, Mary Jo Kilroy. The other candidates being recruited by the GOP weighed heavily in Noe's decision to run. Noe stated: "The party's top choice was Jim Petro! When he was State Auditor he couldn't find a single missing nickel in the $50 million state coin fund that I had completely looted. I must be a better candidate than a guy who is that incompetent."
When asked about running for Ohio's 15th District while confined to a federal prison in Florida Noe replied: "Just look at that Gilmour fellow who lives in a million dollar golf course home in Columbus while he claims to be representing the little guys from his Congressional district in Tiffin. Besides, my federal sentence is done on October 27, 2008 - - eight days before the general election. At that point I will be transferred from the federal prison in Florida to a state prison in Ohio to serve my 18 year state sentence, so I will be a resident of Ohio on Election Day, thus meeting all Constitutional requirements."
Noe has been testing his message with a focus group composed of fellow inmates from every security level and offender classification. Noe spokesman Eugene "the Animal" said: "While these convicted felons can not actually vote, they do have a lot of time on their hands for focus groups, and they only charge 10 cigarettes to participate.
Noe finance chair Jimmy "the Weasel" said that the campaign expects to be fully competitive in fundraising, noting that Noe has recently been assigned bookkeeping duties for the prison commissary.
