Post from Dave Harding's Blog:
GOP Debate: The Jokes On Rudy!

The Right Field:

I don’t know what’s worse. That two of the Republican front runners (Giuliani/Romney) argue in favor torture, or that the Republican base applauds in agreement.

Meanwhile, FOX News attacked Ron Paul’s opposition to the Iraq War and asked him if he was running for the nomination of the wrong party.

Paul also argued that the terrorist threat is based on misguided U.S. foreign policy, taking on the favorite right-wing talking point that terrorist hate America’s freedoms. Feeling threatened, Rudy Giuliani took Paul to task for attacking the entire rhetorical basis of his presidential campaign.

The joke was on Rudy and the Republicans/Fox News with their text voting when voters said
Ron Paul was the Winner of the Debate!

Wow somebody who actually understands the issues of foreign policy and doesn't just spew out a bunch of rhetoric. Its amazing that he won on Fox news.

very nice. i kept watching thinking "ron paul...hmmm...i'd vote for this guy maybe". they let rudy have a great deal of leeway as he asked for and got time to go after Ron without actually arguing any points. tried to a second time and was rebuffed finally. paul is shining a light on how far the republican party has strayed.

Rudy Misunderstanding

I did not catch it during the debate, but on the MSNBC recap this morning Rudy Giuliani, in his call for Ron Paul to apologize, said, "This is the first time I have heard someone say that the 9/11 attacks were staged, to provide an excuse to invade Iraq."

WOW! Ron Paul was obviously saying that the U.S. Foreign Policy up to that point had so enraged the Radical Islamists, and we ignored the warning signs. We were being attacked overseas, after all. It was just a matter of time before we were attacked on our own soil. And Ron Paul said NOTHING about Iraq in that statement. He was asked SPECIFICALLY about the 9/11 attacks. This just goes to show how the Bush-lovers still make attempts to tie the invasion of Iraq with the 9/11 attacks.

Note: Ron Paul is definately NOT a Democrat he is an odd Libertarian-type. Check out his stance on the issues at Project Vote Smart: Link

To bring the topic back to Ohio:

Remember those TV ads last fall where Rudy said, "Ken Blackwell is the best choice to lead Ohio"? Remember? I sure hope that someone has those ads on their TiVo, because that is anti-Rudy GOLD. Just play that line in a commercial and Rudy loses Ohio. But let's make sure we trot that out AFTER Rudy wins the Republic Primary.
