COLUMBUS -- A new bill that would close strip clubs at midnight and keep patrons six feet from dancers at all times has supporters and objectors lining up.
The issue pertaining to free speech and personal welfare has the Dancers for Democracy group protesting against the bill that would increase restrictions on adult clubs, NBC 4's Ana Jackson reported.
According to the group, 10,000 jobs could be in jeopardy if Senate Bill 16 passes successfully. Many dancers said they wouldn't be able to support their families if the proposed restrictions take effect.
"I have student loans that need to be paid off; I have a mortgage to pay," said Amber Layman. "I have two kids that I support and I'm very independent at this point. But if this bill passes, I may have to go on welfare.
These are our rights. They have no right to try and take this away from us."
This is ridiculous! Close at 12 a.m., 6-feet away from the patron, what the heck here? We already have laws for drug use and the like don't we?
Ohio is stepping onto a slippery slope of let's create 'preventative' laws to prevent bad things from happening in the first place. Do this enough and you have exactly that: SOCIALISM.
For example, let's say people get into car accidents because they play the radio.
1.) A law is passed not allowing the playing of music in a car.
2.) Before you know it, people will be getting fined for playing their radios while driving.
**Here's what it all boils down to: Ohio is SHORT on funds in their budget and they are LOOKING to create laws that can be enforced via fines. A schemey little way to extort tax dollars from Ohio businesses and the general public.
Ohio's laws are heading in the wrong direction. I and many of the people in this state will be heading in the RIGHT direction, that is: Moving to another state.
**Point Blank: Ohio's weather sucks and so do many of Ohio's laws. Oh, did I metion the measly minimum wage, waste your time jobs too? What's left to keep us here anyway?
The 'agenda' these lawmakers have is upside down/backwards.
**Lastly,does Akron mayor Don Plusquellic really need a $10 thousand dollar raise, considering he owns a lot of Akron property already? Did anybody ever check to see how far Akron is in the financial hole first?
Anyways, I'm looking around, because Ohio sucks right now.
1. Go on welfare.

2. Get public assisitance- period!
The taxpayers will feel the brunt of this because dancers left with children & other strip club employees with no other options will be FORCED to go on welfare & all other public assistance open to them.
They government may think this is a great idea now what will all the fines that they MAY collect on. But the taxpayers will be the ones paying for it no matter what.
There are many European countries where the socialists rule the government and alot more than exoctic dancing is legal. And, these activities go down when it is no longer "Forbidden Fruit."
