House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) recently warned that we cannot leave Iraq -- "like we did in Somalia" -- because "we will leave chaos in our wake."
"We can look it up and we can walk out. We can walk out on Iraq just like we did in Lebanon, just like we did in Vietnam, just like we did in Somalia and we will leave chaos in our wake."
Yet, Boehner voted numerous times to limit the deployment of troops in Somalia. On at least two occasions, he supported amendments to move up the deadline to bring toops home from Somalia (House Roll Call Vote #179, 5/22/93 and House Roll Call Vote #555, 11/9/93).
He also voted against $1.8 billion in funding for the operation in Somalia (House Roll Call Vote #188, 5/26/93).

Here is Boehner's hypocracy in a nutshell from thinkprogress:

Here's what I want to know:
Is the DCCC drafting a strong challenger to Boehner next year? The guy who ran against John "Leatherneck" Boehner last year was not at all organized. I implored him to put some anti-Boehner articles on his website when the whole Tom Foley scandal exploded before the election, but ... nothing.
Maybe Boehner's District is just too drunk on the Republican koolaid to waste $$$ there. But with all the national negative publicity about Boehner, some enterprising Democrat needs to step in and bring sanity to that part of Ohio.
