Hobson has held this seat since 1990.

Mike DeWine held the seat from 1982 to 1990.

A Democrat has held this seat for two years only, since the district was created in 1920: Arthur W. Aleshire (D) held the seat from 1936 to 1938.

I was the 2006 Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in the Ohio 7th District and will run again in 2008. I did very well in 2006 against Hobson,a 9 term incumbent, winning Franklin and Perry Counties and getting 40% of the vote across the district. We can end the occupation of Iraq while creating an improvement in our position in the Middle East and the world, end the budget deficit with a surplus, have universal health care, and reduce the trade deficit and restore jobs.
