Sec. of State Brunner to decide Husted residency issue
In a tie vote, the Montgomery County Board of Elections sent the issue of state Sen. Jon Husted's residency to Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. The board voted three times, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, which is standard on tie votes. Board members will send briefs to Brunner within 14 days.
Residency questions have dogged Husted, R-Kettering, for years and the complaints followed an Oct. 18 Dayton Daily News article that raised new questions about whether he lives in Kettering or at his wife's home in Upper Arlington.
The facts of the case seem to overwhelmingly support that now Senator Husted committed voter fraud by voting outside of his legal place of residence.
Secretary Brunner, will you stand up for equal enforcement of the voting laws of the State of Ohio or will you show political deference to the powerful Republican politician?
Demonstrate why you won last year's John F Kennedy Profile In Courage Award and do what is right giving equal justice to all and not what is political in the Husted case. We're counting on you!
