Mansfield has lost a Matriarch; Emily Brown Sen. Brown's mother has died

The Dayton Daily News is reporting that Sen. Sherrod Brown's mother Emily has passed away.
Emily Brown was one of those engaging, energetic and caring activists in the Mansfield area long before her sons took to public service.
Her compassion and progressive ideals clearly took hold with her family.
A few years back I was invited to speak in Mansfield and had the opportunity to hear Emily's wit and wisdom at the table breaking bread and came away understanding just why her family and her community had such a welcoming atmosphere.
Mansfield's lost a matriarch. Condolences to the Brown family. Her memory will last long in her community and beyond.
