Take Action: Senate Sign-On Letter to DEA
Fight the Government's Gridlock, Demand Research Now!
The Problem: The Federal government refuses to allow scientists to conduct medical cannabis research using non-governmental material (or cannabis), creating a gridlock on medical cannabis research. At the same time, the FDA and DEA claim there is not enough research on the medicinal values of marijuana. This hypocrisy and gridlock must end now!
The Solution: Congress must step in and force the DEA to end the gridlock and allow scientists to conduct the necessary research on medical cannabis.
How to Make it Happen: We must urge our U.S. Senators to support research and end the gridlock! In October 2007, Senators Kennedy and Kerry (D-MA) agreed to send a letter to DEA urging acceptance of DEA Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Mary Ellen Bittner's February 2007 Opinion and Recommended Ruling in support of the UMass-Amherst Medical Marijuana Research Production Facility. Senator Kennedy's office will make the letter available to other senators who wish to offer their support for the Amherst project.
What You Can Do
1. Call your both of your U.S. Senators today! Ask for their co-signatures on the Kennedy/Kerry letter to Acting DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart.
SAMPLE PHONE SCRIPT
"Hello, my name is (YOUR NAME) and I live in (YOUR CITY and STATE). I am calling today to ask Senator (YOUR SENATOR'S LAST NAME) to co-sign the Kennedy/Kerry letter to Acting DEA Administrator, Michele Leonhart, urging her agency to follow the recommendation of Administrative Law Judge Mary Ellen Bittner and grant a license to Prof. Lyle Craker of UMass Amherst to grow marijuana exclusively for federally-approved research. To join the letter, contact Graham Shalgian in Senator Kennedy's district office at 617 565-3170. Please let me know what you plan on doing. Thank you."

I know of many Baby boomer age people that use canabis for stress relief, pain relief, nausea relief from chemo therapy, and many other conditions that are alieviated by its' use.
I have used it medicinally since I was in my late twenties and I have experienced none of the alledged symtoms of dementia, chronic bronchial problems, brain damage, or any of the other symtoms professed by the Dare Programs and others who try to scare us from using this Plant Gift from god.
The Industrial uses alone could create a billion dollar industry in this country if allowed to flourish. Currently there are billions of dollars flowing out of this country to Columbia, Mexico and who knows where where else in the world through the underground drug economy. These are all moneys that could be taxed and add money to the domestic coffers of our government if we would only wake up and see the economic
growth potential of this Horticulture Miracle from God. Let's get this movement going in Ohio.
