Hello, my name is David Robinson and I'm running for Ohio's 12th Congressional seat. I'd like to speak with you about a policy initiative that is central not only to my candidacy, but far more importantly-- to the future well-being of our country.
I'm calling this policy initiative the Apollo II program. By Apollo II I'm not referring to sending humans back to the moon or onward to Mars, but about a different kind of journey with a supremely important destination. I'm referring to the mission now before us of freeing ourselves from foreign oil, protecting our planet from dangerous climate change, and rebuilding our industries and jobs here in Ohio.
Here on American soil.
These three challenges: energy security, protecting the planet and creating good American jobs-- they all come together in the Apollo II program.
Three challenges, with one common solution.
At the heart of Apollo 2 is a bold, sustained national commitment to the creation of a clean-energy, sustainable economy. In this new economy wealth will be created and retained here in America.
The energy that fuels out lives will be in our hands, and we will once again control our own future.
A future we can look forward to with hope and faith that we are leaving a better world to our children.
With Apollo II, I am not suggesting merely small or incremental changes to existing systems but rather a game-changing, paradigm-shifting movement towards renewable energies and an efficient, sustainable, made-in-America economy.
Apollo II needs to be of a scope and of an intensity like the first Apollo program, leading to nothing less than a second INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.
Through robust research /development and pilot deployment, focused incentives and smart trade pacts, we can reward those who work and produce in ways that serve the national interest.
Instead of subsidizing-- as we do now, those that pollute, that keep us dependent and offshore jobs out of their short-term interest.
Specifically, Apollo II establishes the goal of complete energy independence by 2030, and an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050.
These goals-- once firmly committed to, will unleash tremendous innovation in our country creating whole new industries and jobs--jobs that cannot be exported, raising the standard of living for millions of Americans.
We will immediately rewrite the rules with OPEC and foreign oil producers and we will assume the role of global leadership on combating climate change.
This is the kind of America that I believe in and that I know is possible. We the people want this, and so it's time to elect a President and a Congress that will lead us in this new direction.

Actor and leading conservationist Ed Begley, Jr.'s visit to central Ohio was more than an opportunity to talk with students about pressing environmental issues, it was an opportunity for him to meet with and encourage local activists and candidates.
The Emmy-nominated, award-winning actor was in central Ohio as the featured speaker for Otterbein College's Distinguished Lecture Series. Begley knows there are two possible responses to our environmental challenges: forget it and hope that government and corporations will figure it out, or take action yourself.
In the "take action yourself" camp, a few individuals are leading the way. One such person is Ed Begley, Jr.
Environmental lawyer and long-time friend, Bobby Kennedy, Jr. has said "Ed has a greater sense of social obligation than anyone I know. He's like a West Coast cadet who gets up every morning and says 'reporting for duty'".
Another tireless environmental activist is one of the three democratic candidates for the 12th Congressional District, David Robinson. Robinson went to listen to Begley's talk and afterwards, the two struck a kinship over their shared environmental interests. Having delivered many pro-bono presentations on the science of climate change and energy independence to many civic organizations and area universities, Robinson felt right at home with Begley. Robinson shared his dreams of helping create new jobs in industries to foster an energy independent future for Ohio, and Begley liked what he heard.
After their meeting, Begley stated officially, "I feel a sense of responsibility for our environment and our future generations to endorse a candidate like David Robinson. His common sense approach is exactly the kind of representation we need in Washington, D. C."
This is the same CNN that has recently placed the former director of Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition, Ralph Reed behind a CNN news desk as a news analyst.
Such realizations were simultaneously odd and seemingly unrelated, until I looked closer at "Honest" John McCain, Candidate for President of the United States of America.
As chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, John McCain directed the Congressional investigation of the Indian gaming scandal which stole over $80 million from American Indian Tribes. The scandal led to the imprisonment of Lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Congressman Bob Ney (R-OH), and a number of other lobbyists and federal officials, yet some people criticized McCain for failing to call people like Ralph Reed (who were at the center of the scam) before the committee to testify.
As a result of this investigation, McCain refers to himself as an "agent of change," yet he limited the scope of the gaming investigation to lobbyists' improper gifts. Now if the lobbyists were guilty of giving improper gifts, trips and money, a natural follow-up question for McCain could have been, "who received those gifts?" Why were members of Congress not investigated? Why wasn't Ralph Reed brought before the McCain investigation? After all, wasn't he paid $4 million to shut down an Indian casino by Reed's friend and convicted felon, Jack Abramoff.
Maybe Ralph Reed will raise such questions to McCain as a news analyst for "the most trusted name in news," CNN. Read More »

An excerpt out of George Washington's farewell address in 1779:
"Let me now ... warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally. ... The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. ...
"The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty. Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), [we must recognize] the common and continual mischiefs of the evils of party.
"The spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it. It serves always to distract the public councils. ... It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another. ...
"A just estimate of that love of power, and proneness to abuse it, which predominates in the human heart, is sufficient to satisfy us of the truth of this position. The necessity of reciprocal checks in the exercise of political power, by dividing and distributing it into different depositories, and constituting each the guardian of the public weal against invasions by the others, has been evinced by experiments ancient and modern; some of them in our country and under our own eyes. To preserve them must be as necessary as to institute them.
"If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed. The precedent must always greatly overbalance in permanent evil any partial or transient benefit, which the use can at any time yield."
There have never been amendments to the Constitution to institute the two-party evil that Washington envisioned, which as we can witness in the current environment of "Impeachment's off the table," has usurped the Constitution.
Washington's advise in combination with this modern example, should serve to caution us all from taking one side or another based on party rhetoric.
Let us choose sides based on right and wrong --as determined by our Constitution, rather than right and left --based on party preference.

There is a lot of complaining about the lame stream news media...and there are a lot of people trying to fill that void. People like Brian Rothenburg of Progress Ohio have taken the ball that the media has dropped and are running with it, and for those who are on the internet --they are having an effect. Yet there is still at least 30% of our population that we will never reach using the internet, as they do not use this vital tool. That is, nearly a third of our citizens may never learn the truth unless we reach them another way. This statistic could be quite conservative as many of those who do access the internet will never venture outside of main stream sites like MSN, Yahoo, and AOL.
Here in Columbus, Ohio we do not have a public access channel and are a one-newspaper town. When I had my own political transformation in late 2006, I was determined to teach others in my community what I learned about the state of our Republic. Yet with the stranglehold that the media had on this town, I knew it was going to be very difficult to reach my fellow citizens. I created a peace organization, and a friend I met at another peace group launched our website. We blogged, networked with other peace groups and had a presence on all the networking sites like Meet-up, Facebook and Google-groups. Throughout 2007 we brought in national speakers. We marched in parades, tabled at festivals, held a Truth Film Festival and held regular vigils. Over the course of that year, we passed out 10,000 DVD's and tens of thousands of fliers. In all that flurry of effort, we probably converted 1000 people to the reality we face, though few actually got involved in our efforts. Though I would do it all again, I realized that we wouldn't win our city to truth at that rate.
In a discussion of our progress at one of our meetings, one of our members said, “We are feeding them porterhouse steak, and they can only handle milk toast.” I thought this was an excellent way to assess our efforts. We understood the mentality of our community because we were once like them. Like them, we too believed that our government might buy the occasional $350 hammer, but we never suspected that they would ever pick one up and whack us over the head with it. Unfortunately, those in our group knew better.
We knew we had to “build a better mousetrap.”
About 6 months ago, I started to dream about another way to reach my community...start a newspaper. I was inspired by Matt and Elaine Sullivan of the Rock Creek Free Press. I knew their format wouldn't work here in Columbus, but I decided to contact them and ask them for their advise. I told them I had absolutely no qualifications or experience, but I wanted to start a newspaper. They admitted that they too had never done anything like it before, but said they would do what they could to help.
After receiving a $500 donation from a friend of our group, I thought this is our opportunity. Together with two friends I had gained through our group, we went to work. We found a printer, used an open-source (free) program, gathered our articles and finally thought we had a product we could promote. Our first issue came out this past Veteran's Day, and the power of our new tool was immediate and obvious.
After passing out DVD's and fliers for a year, I knew what rejection felt like. People no longer recoiled in fear or disgust at my ovations to give them our paper. Rather, they said things like, “This is your paper? Wow!" I heard many simple expressions of gratitude like, "Thank-you!”
It felt really good.
We received another generous donation and this time we put it to use by purchasing 20 used newspaper boxes. We worked on them in my driveway and set them up along High Street in Columbus, Ohio. Before we knew it, it was time to work on our second issue and it was received as well as the first.
The co-operation and generous support of writers across the country has made our effort quite productive. As an activist, I have never found a better way to reach my community. As a mother of two young children who is concerned about the future of our country, I want to share this outreach tool with anyone interested in finding a better way to engage your community in our struggle for liberty. A group of citizen journalists in Portland, Oregon are concerned about military drills coming up in that city between Oct 15th and 19th, 2007. The drills are TopOff 4 (“TopOff” stands for “Top Officials”) and Vigilant Shield 08. They will feature the simulated detonation of three nuclear devices by terrorists, providing a scenario to practice the implementation of martial law.
The group is known as the Oregon Truth Alliance or OTA. At their website, www.OregonTruthAlliance.org, they point out that similar drills have been closely tied to both the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001 and the London bombings of July 7, 2005. Both these events appear to have been “false-flag” operations --- attacks staged by one country, blamed on an adversary, and used to railroad reluctant populations into war.
Beside these two clandestine operations, other examples of false-flag operations are discussed at the OTA site. They include the destruction of the U.S.S. Maine, the Reichstag Fire, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and the attempted sinking of the U.S.S. Liberty. (1)
I have to acknowledge at the outset that I am not neutral in the matter. I share OTA’s concerns. It is widely believed that the official story of 9/11, as set out in the 9/11 Commission Report, is implausible in light of the facts and evidence surrounding the events of that day and the historical motives of the present administration’s leaders. The administration’s motives were well documented in a Project for the New American Century report entitled Rebuilding America's Defenses. (2)
In short, Vice President Cheney and leading neoconservatives asserted that America would not rebuild its defenses adequately save by the occurrence of a "new Pearl Harbor." That is exactly what they got on 9/11. The 9/11 attacks paved the way for the suppression of civil liberties in the U.S. and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. A second 9/11 would pave the way for further suppression of civil liberties and a war with Iran.
OTA says that the London bombings were carried out behind the veil of a drill. Conducted by Visor Consultants, that drill took place in the same venues and at the same times as the bombs went off. This meant that all the police and fire department resources needed to be on the scene were already there. (3) The odds of a drill happening by coincidence at the same location as a bombing seem too remote to be plausible.
National Security Presidential Directive 51 and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 20 gave the President dictatorial powers in the event of "catastrophic emergencies," as defined by him. The worry is that the temptation of these powers might "coincidentally" lead to another contrived emergency. (4)
One piece of disturbing evidence that fuelled OTA’s concerns was their discovery of a map from the Harvard report, The Day After, issued in May 2007. (5) The map depicts a nuclear plume over an unidentified US city. From the street names and geography, the group knew it was a map of Portland.

In New York, the mere threat of doing this has gotten immediate results.

In the following video, a student who asks questions of Senator Kerry is dragged away and tasered...while Kerry does nothing to stop it. Maybe it doesn't matter that the vote was stolen in 2004, as it seems Kerry is on the side of the elites anyway.
Watch the video and then call the university and demand the firing of the officers who acted so brutally against this student...in full view of all who were there. How can this happen?
