I am amazed that these payday lenders are disguising who they are by their new name-"Ohioans for Financial Freedom." There is absolutely no freedom in being in an endless cycle of debt. Anyone who has ever gotten a payday loan knows what a pain it is. Many years ago I had a payday loan that I could not pay on time. When I wanted to set up an arrangement, I was harrassed all day with threatening phone calls. I was belittled and treated like crap. This is not caring about people. I cannot believe that Ohioans will support such corruption by signing petitions for them to keep charging "loan shark" rates. Let's stand up for our rights as human beings. I know that other, and better sources will appear.
Should we allow payday lenders to bully and lie to people? That is what they are doing in their campaign. If they really told people what they are doing, no one in their right mind would sign their petition. Since they have preyed off of the poor and desperate, they obviously have no scruples. Let's face it, they want to continue to make a fortune of money off of getting and keeping people in the hole. They have not tried to figure a better means of lending money that would actually help people. So they are going to spend their money lying to people. Put an end to it.
