What does a decorated WWII veteran, a Sierra Club member, grandparents, a seasoned political activist and a father of a SEIU organizer have in common? They were all at an America Votes Clermont County meeting last night!
Over the past year, folks in Clermont County went door-to-door talking to their neighbors about important issues affecting our state and even ran a local Get-Out-The-Vote program! Now, they are taking the next step to figure out how to grow their group in South Western Ohio by reaching out to other progressives and to organizations across the county.
Since I’ve come to know these activists over the past year, their personal stories and actions have inspired me. This is NOT an easy area to go door-to-door or make phone calls!
But their actions are what a progressive grassroots movement is about – connecting people to their neighbors to take local action to change our communities, state and nation.
I want to invite YOU to get to know the progressives of Clermont County. Tomorrow night (Friday, April 27th) we are having a movie night to watch “The War Tapes.” A movie that will open your eyes about what our soldiers go through on the front line in Iraq and who is profiting off of the war.
If you live in Clermont County and care about progressive issues, you need to meet your like-minded neighbors – I am sure they will inspire you, too. Tomorrow night is the perfect excuse to come out and meet them! Click here for details about the event!
