Common Sense Conservative - Die Hard Republicans and Democrats - Party People Need to wake up - this is about being a citizen of Ohio - the heartland of America - party hacks need not apply

We the people spoke today, and it's time to hold those politicians accountable who favored the following: 1.  Exploitation of a specific race of brown skinned workers by big business - aka Slavery or Indentured Servitude 2.  Reward law breaking with the gift of citizenship - spitting in the eye of those who would come here and enhance our country through legal means 3.  Open borders to allow the following:  Un-balanced free trade that drives good American jobs to Mexico, Un-fettered access to any illegal who wants to come to the US - even OTMs who may or may not want to cause us harm 4.  A visa system that is still unchecked - permitting those here on legal visas to overstay at their own will - anyone remember 9/11/01?  Guess cheap labor and votes are more important than security 5.  Extreme Liberal Special Interest Groups and Big Business continual hold on our politician's cahones It's time to vote these bums out - ALL of them from both parties - not one had our needs, wants, or desires on their minds.  If we continue to simply vote party line - then we'll end up with more of the same'  Don't be blinded like I was - send these elites packing and get some new blood and new ideas in DC.

Ask a Native American what he thinks about uncontrolled illegal immigration!

In an earlier post, Doug in Columbus raised a great question - what is a "Progressive"?

Is it someone who echos the rantings of the radical liberal democratic agenda?  Is it communism by another name?  Is it 60+ hippies who still dreams of Haight Ashbury while drinking designer coffee in Birkenstocks?

I'm a conservative, who's mostly voted republican in the past and I certainly hope the above is not the case.  From my perspective, a progressive is someone who is fed up with the status quo and would like to change the balance of power from the elite class back to the people.  Left coast, right coast & fly over country - the majority of people have similar dreams, desires and needs.  We become progressive, or desire change, even if conservative, when we see our ability to reach those desires and needs thwarted by either an inactive govt or and over active govt.  Guess what, regardless of the activity level, it's still govt and it can screw up a free lunch - pick your favorite govt entity - you have a million ideas about how to better that agency or how to better the citizens of this awesome nation - why?  Because govt cant' do it as well as normal folks outside of DC can plainly see.

The folks in DC, both sides of the isle, the folks in Columbus, both sides are the elites - they are all corrupt and only want to act in order to better themselves - even if they're noble in their pursuits on the campaign trail - they're quickly corrupted by the sheer power of their office.  It's time to change that, let them know that we the people have the power, we're the ones who make this country go.

Also part of the elite class are the media types, hollywood, big corporate CEOs, Universities, secret societies, churches, and bureaucrats - I'm sure we all have someone or something in this list that drives us crazy.

Ideas on how to hold those accountable are all welcome - but exercising our right of free speech is a good start - but something needs to be put into action and soon - or we'll have one helluva caste system in a country that was founded on equality and e pluribus unum.

If any of this remotely sounds progressive, then count me it - otherwise I'll just hang out to get various points of view and maybe learn something new, and even on a slim remote chance of potentially sparking an enlightening thought in someone too.

Can Ohio take a lead role in energy alternatives?  I think yes - we are sitting on a massive amount of high sulfur coal - currently not mined because it's too dirty for normal uses - power plants, etc.  High sulfur coal can be converted to very clean diesel fuel, with little more than fertilizer as a by-product.  Why can't the powers get together, on a bi-partisan program, to jump start this sort of project?  I've attempted to speak with my Democrat US Rep Zack Space, but we're still playing phone tag.  There's so many useless reserves in south eastern Ohio, that we could re-vitalize the entire economy in that area - put those folks back to work, team up with some good companies and have the state offer tax breaks for investment into the project - this would get the buy-in from my conservative friends and all folks should buy in on the cleaner diesel fuel.  All feedback is welcome - but I've studied this at some lenght - this seems to me to be a completely viable alternative energy source and a great way to get Ohio's Appalachia areas out of poverty's grasp.
