The largest newspaper in the 7th District, The Repository, has endorsed Joyce Healy-Abrams for U.S. Congress!
The new 7th District representative needs to know and care about Stark County. Democratic candidate Joyce Healy-Abrams already does know and care. The Repository's editorial board is not persuaded that Republican Bob Gibbs plans to do either.
We urge voters in the 7th District to send Healy-Abrams to Washington.Healy-Abrams grew up in Canton and returned to Stark County five years ago from Columbus, where she had owned and operated a records storage company.
This experience has shaped the tax-reform and economic development agenda she says she will pursue in Washington. Unlike most Democrats, she's also ready to modify the new health care law, to give small businesses more insurance options.
Healy-Abrams knows the Stark County communities in the 7th District, and she has made a commitment to Stark's more important city as a trustee of the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
The Republicans designed the new 7th District for Gibbs to win. If Stark Countians want to exercise what clout they have left, they can start by voting for one of their own, Joyce Healy-Abrams. We urge them to do so on Nov. 6.
