ProgressOhio Executive Director Brian Rothenberg released the following statement about Murray Energy's Friday press conference defending their political practices:
We're getting used to these orchestrated Murray Energy events. The company themselves indicated that they mandated workers to appear at the rally, which was then used for official Mitt Romney campaign ads.
The company themselves has admitted to coercion in the past. Who knows how many of these miners' statements today were real or manufactured by the heavy hand of a corporate boss. The one thing we do know is that this company's style is heavy-handed.
