Through the first few months of President Barack Obama's presidency the economy was still bleeding jobs at an astonishing rate due to the banking crisis.

The last two and a half years have been a different story, as this chart from Steve Benen shows. While the number of government jobs continues to shrink, the private sector has added net jobs every month since March 2010.
Revised job numbers released today are showing that President Obama has now completely closed the gap and added net overall jobs during his presidency, even taking into account his first few months in office and the hundreds of thousands of jobs lost in local government.
