Today's Plain Dealer features an interesting editorial urging Secretary of State Jon Husted to walk back some of his recent controversial decisions:
Husted could ease this climate of mistrust with a little restraint and a slight adjustment to the early-voting hours he has set. [...]
The Democrats were grandstanding. Their motion was DOA. Husted no doubt feels disrespected. But that's no reason to create political martyrs. He should rescind his effort to fire the two -- then consider adding at least one weekend day for early voting.
This is quickly becoming a battle in what Andrew Cohen, legal analyst for 60 Minutes, dubbed "America's new war over civil rights."
