RootsCamps are participant driven, using the "unconference" or "open space" format that is born from the desire for activists, organizers, leaders and politicians to share and learn in a productive, fast-paced, open environment. RootsCamp is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.
Initiated by the New Organizing Institute and based on the phenomenally successful BarCamp model, RootsCamps are self-organized. This open format never fails to yield an astounding exchange of information, spin-off projects, and cross-pollination among unexpected partners.
Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.
When you come, be prepared to share with other rootscampers.
When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
No Spectators, Only Participants
Attendees should give a demo, a session, or help with one, or otherwise volunteer / contribute in some way to support the event. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen.
