COLUMBUS - Today, the Ohio Democratic Party filed a complaint with the
Ohio Elections Commission against Josh Mandel in response to a recent
attack ad that the Columbus Dispatch called the
"scummiest so far" in the election cycle. The Dispatch debunked the ad's
claims, adding that the attack "sinks into innuendo and fear-mongering"
and "seems to serve no purpose other than to play on some Americans'
post-9/11 fears of Middle Eastern people and religions.""Representative Mandel has shown that he will do anything to win a vote," said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern. "Josh would rather sink to outright lies and fear-mongering because he doesn't want to have a conversation about who is most qualified to run the Ohio Treasury. His ad is nothing less than a modern-day Willie Horton smear. He should take it down immediately, and he should be ashamed."
The complaint, which points out numerous lies in Representative Mandel's ad, can be viewed here.
